Muzart offers a variety of programs to fulfill your and your children's artistic needs.
Private Music Classes:
The individual approach of private, one-on-one music lessons allows students to progress at their own pace and concentrate on the style of music they are interested in. Whether you’re looking to prepare for Royal Conservatory examinations or University auditions, learn to play or sing your favourite pop tunes, or simply expand your musical horizons, our instructors can design a program suited to your needs. We want you to learn the music you want to learn and are committed to working together towards your personal musical goals.
As trained and working professional musicians, our instructors are highly skilled in their musical disciplines and will be happy to guide you through the learning process whether you are beginning with a brand new instrument or looking for some advanced guidance. Whatever the genre you’re interested in – jazz, classical, pop, and everything in between – we’re open to your personal interests. Whether you are 5 years old or 150 years old, we can help you unlock your musical potential!
Muzart offers private instruction in piano, voice, guitar, and drums. The length of class (30, 45 or 60 minutes) is usually determined by the student’s personal skill level and program. Your instructor will advise you on what will be best according to your needs.
Private Art Classes:
Private art lessons will allow you to do just the style or theme of art that you want. You can tackle anything from sketching to painting. If you want to explore landscapes, human form, still-life, fantasy or cartooning, no style or concept is off limits. Whether beginner, or with some experience in visual arts, you will enjoy these private classes provided by an enthusiastic and supportive teacher.
For beginner artists trying to find their passion, basic portraiture is a great place to start. It teaches through a combination of simple lines and shapes, and can be increased in difficulty for those looking for an extra challenge. Concepts such as colour, shadow, depth, movement, perspective, proportion, and composition can be learned with various projects, geared towards the interest of the student.
Starting with coloured pencil, artists can use their skills in a variety of media. Coloured pencils, oil pastel, and watercolour are all provided by the school. If the student wishes to explore other media, such as acrylic, they must bring their own supplies. Portfolio preparation is also available for those interested in applying to visual arts programs in secondary schools. Choose from 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons.
Group Art Classes:
Enjoy art in a fun group environment in these weekly 60 minute group art lessons. Beginner, or with some experience in art, group classes provide a comfortable and creative setting to develop artistic skills. Starting with combinations of a few lines and shapes to make simple pictures, beginners develop their confidence to take on more complex subjects. Flexibility in the classes allows students to make diverse art works, and add personal details to each picture.
From early classes basic portraiture skills and colouring techniques are learned, using coloured pencil. Moving on, eager artists practise newly learned skills on more complex subjects and themes, such as animals, landscapes, human form and cartooning. Throughout various activities, often as diverse as the group itself, students are taught more advanced techniques to embellish their artwork. This includes basic to intermediate knowledge of shading, colour transition, colour-wheel, proportions, and texture. All these aspects are a stepping stone to applying the previously learned techniques in other media.
While exploring new media, for example oil pastel, watercolour, collage and crafts, budding artists are often given free range as to the subject of their artwork. This allows for the development of creativity and imagination. Through this exploration, students are given collective and individual instruction to teach them more complex artistic aspects, like movement, composition, depth, and even ways to enhance their creativity.
In more advanced classes, artists learn in detail about three-dimensional objects. Still-life and perspective projects use all previously learned techniques, while presenting some new challenges. Continuous projects of increasing difficulty level encourage the group’s pupils to practise skills and hone their creativity. The group component is enhanced by the experience of collaborative projects, when all students work on a single art piece collectively. Collaboration is useful in expanding each individual’s creativity, and promoting a team-friendly attitude.
A blend of technique, creativity, and group participation, this class is a great choice for those who want to learn Visual Arts in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
